Program Description:

The Diploma in Hospital and Healthcare Management was designed to meet the needs of the local labor market for this specialty. Training in this specialty is conducted over five semesters, using a combined (integrated) system. Each semester lasts eight weeks, for a total of (1,600) training hours, in addition to (360) hours of practical training in the labor market, equivalent to (74) credit hours.

This program provides training in specialized skills in the fields of hospital and healthcare institution management, healthcare services management, healthcare human resources management, healthcare services marketing, health information systems, quality management and assurance, health insurance management, healthcare materials management, health reporting, and computer applications in hospital management. It also covers human resources in healthcare institutions, as well as how to create, manage, and code medical records, as well as how to address quality and accreditation in hospitals. This is accomplished through theoretical lectures and practical training with relevant institutions and hospitals, in collaboration with them, to apply theoretical knowledge to hospital sites in the trainee's specialization. Furthermore, general skills in Islamic culture, Arabic, English, mathematics, computer applications, business knowledge, and communication skills are also provided.

Graduates of this program are awarded a diploma in hospital and healthcare institution management and are expected to work in fields related to the management of hospitals, healthcare institutions, medical warehouses, and all other healthcare institutions.

General Objective of the Program:

This program aims to qualify trainees to work in the field of hospital and healthcare institution management. Trainees will receive Level 5 of the National Vocational Qualifications System.

Detailed Program Objectives:

By the end of this program, the trainee will be able to competently perform the following tasks:

Identify administrative tasks and health statistics in the hospital.

Monitor performance in all departments.

Organize the workflow within the administration and efficiently perform communication and inquiry tasks within healthcare institutions.

Use medical terminology efficiently and effectively in performing daily tasks.

Define quality standards in patient services departments and implement them effectively.

Understand the components and characteristics of the healthcare system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Apply administrative organization and quality methods in health information and hospitals.

Use relevant computer programs and applications.

Analyze patient data using modern software to support decision-making and improve the quality of healthcare services.
